ABOUT US

The essence of EggDog came from the mind of a 9 year old boy named Sebastian, nearly non verbal, diagnosed with autism.

Right around Easter, Sebastian, picked up a plastic egg shell and placed it on to the head of a tiny stuffed animal dog, and for the first time in his life communicated with his father Brian, through this character he had created called EggDog.

Brian believed if it is possible for his child to express himself through EggDog that there could be other families with similar challenges that an application based on EggDog could help as well.

WHAT IS EGGDOG

We are happy to be sharing a brand new application designed to support children with autism in developing their every day skills. The application is to further cultivate life abilities for those who live with autism creating a shared connection with their typical peers.

Eggdog features will assist users with emotional self-regulation, physical awareness, reading non-verbal cues, facial expressions and body language.

Our goal is to shape an app that will support children with autism to thrive, grow, and succeed in today’s world.

Through the support of donors and social networking, we will be creating advanced elements enhancing the experience for all children interacting with Eggdog including:

·       Touch to speak interface:  By tapping Eggdog, the user will receive visual and auditory feedback on what Eggdog needs.

·       Eggdog Land: Users will be able to create a virtual hangout area for their Eggdog to play with other Eggdog users.

·       Eggdog in the real world: Users will be able to place Eggdog in their own environment through video & photos using the smartphone camera.

OUR GOALS

The goal of Eggdog is to help guide children diagnosed with autism to discover, flourish, and create life skills to help them unwrap their true potential as they mature into young adults. Children with autism learn differently so we’re developing an application that adapts to their learning style by offering a character that is accessible with educational structures like, Communication skills both Verbal and Non Verbal, Social and Behavioral skills, Social Awareness, Day to Day Life skills, along with the following features:

·       Healthy food options and eating

·       Appropriate dress and color matching

·       Sleep schedules

·       Hygiene and bathing reminders

·       Understanding of value and cost

·       Educational games – the type where you learn without even realizing it

·       “Chill Room” – personalized space that calms and focuses the user through a relaxing interface
